Additional Notes

Prayer verse: James 1:2-4

Spiritual principles:

  • What marriage "is" and what marriage "does" are two different things.
  • What marriage "is" is rooted in what God has joined together.  Let not man put it asunder, either by divorce, sexual immorality, homosexuality or simple neglect.
  • Marriage takes work, but we have God's Spirit within us and we can cry out "Abba, Father - Lord help me to fulfill your purpose in my marriage."
  • Love is a quality of marriage, but not the foundation, which is to be part of God's redemptive plan to raise up a people for Himself.
